NDT Technician (Level 2)

An NDT Technician (Level 2) is sought to carry out quality inspection of composite and metal panels in line with company specifications using A-scan and C-scan multiple axis machines.

Duties:

• Undertake ultrasonic NDT in accordance with requirements
• Set up, prepare and test components, parts and equipment and perform inspection of components in line with procedures/technique sheets
• Scan composite components by hand
• Check honeycomb structures
• Complete documentation and reports to certify the integrity of components or products in relation to the acceptable standard and procedure
• Identify defects and raise inspection reports and non-conformance paperwork
• Be available as a support for the NDT Level 3 for customer interface/assistance, including travel abroad when necessary
• Work to Nadcap accreditation procedures
• Communicate effectively with immediate colleagues and other departments.

Knowledge, experience, training and qualifications:

• Able to provide proof of hours logged
• Computer literate and familiar with Microsoft packages
• Qualified to NDT Level 2
• Knowledge and experience of aerospace manufacturing processes
• Familiarity with A-scan and C-scan techniques
• Previous experience of heat treatment, conductive testing and automated ultrasonic testing would be highly beneficial
• Any experience with the Olympus Epoch 600, Olympus OmniScan SX, Bondmaster 1000 or similar pieces of equipment would be preferable
• Previous experience of working with composites would also be beneficial.
