Professor T Lin
| Professor Tian Ran (Terry) Lin acquired his PhD degree from School of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Western Australia in 2006. After graduation, he moved to work at Queensland University of Technology until 2015 when he relocated to Qingdao, China. He is currently a ‘Taishan Scholar’ distinguished professor in the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering at Qingdao University of Technology, China. Professor Lin serves as the inaugural member of the academic board of Qingdao University of Technology and the inaugural chair of the academic sub-committee of the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering. He is the director of a number of key laboratories at Qingdao University of Technology, and a fellow of the International Society of Engineering Asset Management.
Professor Lin is an active researcher in the field of vibro-acoustics, structural acoustics, signal processing and machine fault diagnostic. He publishes research outcomes regularly in the relevant international journals. He is invited regularly to review research papers for more than 20 journals including the most reputable journals in his field of expertise such as Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, Journal of Sound and Vibration, Journal of Vibration and Acoustics, Mechanical Systems and Signal Processing, Structural Health Monitoring, Reliability Engineering and System Safety, Applied Acoustics, Marine Structures, Journal of Vibration and Control, Probabilistic Engineering Mechanics, Mechatronics, European Journal of Mechanics/A Solids, International Journal of Electrical Power and Energy Systems, Applied Mathematical Modelling, etc. Professor Lin also review books, book proposals for Elsevier, Springers and CRC Press.
Professor Lin also actively involves in many other academic activities such as organising international conferences, chairing keynote presentations or technical sessions in academic conferences, editing conference proceedings and presenting invited talks and research seminars at various international conferences and in other universities.

Professor S Noroozi
| Professor Siamak Noroozi holds the Chair of Advanced Technology at Bournemouth University. Siamak moved to Bournemouth University in 2008, after 9 years at the University of the West of England, Bristol where he was Director of the Computational Mechanics Research Centre. Siamak was a principal lecturer teaching mechanics of materials, light weight structures, stress analysis etc. Siamak has a long and well established link with Airbus UK, where for the past 15 years, he has been providing training and CPD courses in areas of advanced mechanics of materials and lightweight structure design and analysis. Siamak has been research active for over 30 years, published well in excess of 100 papers in journals and conferences and has had numerous research collaborations with industries such as Renishaw, AirBus-UK, Lima Corp, RBCH (Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch NHS hospitals), AECC, Chas. A. Blatchfords and Sons, Coder Tanks/Products, BAE Systems, Hydreco Ltd, etc.
Siamak has had many research grants from the EPSRC, SERC, Royal academy of engineers (RAE), and a substantial amount of match funding and direct sponsorships from industries listed above. He has a strong research links/collaboration with the University of Malaya and is currently working on multiple joint project and research supervision. |
Professor A Starr
| Professor Andrew Starr is chair of maintenance systems at Cranfield,
Head of the Through-life Engineering Services Institute and the Director
of Education for the School of Aerospace, Transport and Manufacturing.
Andrews work in novel sensing, e-maintenance systems and decision making
strategies has been recognised with grant support such as Shift2Rail
track and smart systems projects with Network Rail (2018); Cleansky 2
738144 iGear: Intelligent gearbox for endurance advanced rotorcraft,
with Active Space Technologies and Avio Aero 2016-18; AMSCI CHARIOT:
Creating high value compact particular products to extend UK's supply
chain reach, with Procter & Gamble et al 2014-17 and EPSRC
autonomous and intelligent systems, EP/J011630, integrated through-life
support for high-value systems, with Network Rail 2013-17. Andrew is a
fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society and the Institute of Mechanical
Engineers, a member of the British Institute of Non-Destructive
Testing, Institute of Asset Management and the International Society for
Condition Monitoring. |
Professor L Wang | Ling Wang is Professor of Tribo-Sensing at the University of
Southampton. Ling heads the National Centre for Advanced Tribology at
Southampton, focusing on research related to both tribology and
condition monitoring and has published over 100 research papers in these
areas. Ling is a Fellow of BINDT and member of IOP and the Winner of
COMADIT Prize in 2017. |
