23/06/2015 BINDT’s Certification Services Division praises NDT Appreciation course
The British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing (BINDT) is keen that industry understands the benefits of NDT, condition monitoring (CM) and all other materials testing disciplines and works to actively promote the science and practice of the subjects. Therefore, it seemed fitting that staff from BINDT should be given the opportunity to achieve a basic understanding of the methods and techniques of NDT/CM used by the trainees, practitioners, examiners and employers that they engage with, by attending an introductory course run by one of its approved training organisations.

As part of a new initiative, staff from the PCN Certification Services Division of BINDT visited Tamil Nadu, India, in March to deliver a two-day training event to introduce and explain the many changes that have been implemented within the PCN Scheme during the last year.

01/06/2015 Record numbers for professional registration through BINDT
In 2014, the British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing (BINDT) saw more members successfully register with the Engineering Council at Engineering Technician (EngTech) level than ever before. Registration at all levels (EngTech, IEng and CEng) saw a significant increase on the 2013 figure and BINDT expects the number to continue rising, through natural growth as well as a direct result of strategic marketing plans. This outlines the fact that applications are not only accepted and encouraged through BINDT, but the application process simplified with entry routes tailored for NDT professionals. At the end of 2009, 173 BINDT members were registered as EngTechs, a figure that had increased to 323 by the end of 2014, representing a rise of more than 85% over four years.
