Qualified Examination Defect Size

QEDSQualified Examination Defect Size is the defect size that is demonstrated to be detected, sized and characterised with high confidence through the inspection qualification process. The extent of the qualification depends on the difficulty and novelty of the inspection. Once the qualified inspection is carried out, there is high confidence that no defect of the QEDS and above will be present in the particular component.
